**This course will provide the participant with 5 General Learning Type BACB® CEUs**
Description of Learning Type CE Event: Ever feel like you’re stuck on an island, practicing behavior analysis? Want to develop a healthy respect for other fields of mental health, to see the validity in their practices, while borrowing from their behaviorally-rooted strengths? This presentation covers the underlying elements of four common psychotherapies, explored from a highly critical behavior-analytic lens, helping attendees discern what makes other therapy schools effective, how this overlaps with what makes us effective, and how we can borrow from the “art” of working with people while remaining conceptually systematic, behavioral, technological, and (of course!) effective. If you’ve ever wanted to provide behavioral services for populations outside Autism, or even change up your Autism practice with something different, this presentation is for you. Note that no one will be learning to be a psychotherapist, nor will they learn any psychotherapy skills; attendees will learn to shape the topographical presentation of their behavior-analytic skills, already being applied, to be more socially-valid for highly vocal and/or neurotypical clients.
